Because I totally do. I have craft supplies hiding out in nearly every room of my house and even a stash of fabric in the garage at my Mom's house down the street. I have a shelf stuffed with scrapbook supplies, an external hard drive filled with photos and digital scrapbooking supplies but no scrapbooks. I want to be the kind of person who makes stuff and does things but lately I just haven't been.
At the end of last year I spent some time looking back and realized that my days are starting to blur together in a big boring lump of work and chores and errands. So I resolved to make some changes and live my life in a more intentional way. To decide what kind of life I want to have and then go out there and do things that help me to build that kind of life. One of those things is to be more creative and in an attempt to work on that I decided to find a way to share and talk about my projects. Hopefully it will be a way for me to hold myself accountable, to stay motivated and on track with living a more meaningful life.
Why did I chose Eclectic Otter?
I'm not sure when I decided to call my husband Bear but I did. Mainly because he is big and fluffy but also he does some silly back scratching like a bear against a tree. At some point there was a Facebook quiz about 'What kind of animal are you?' and of course my husband came up as a bear (I think it was choosing steak and berries as his favorite food that pushed it over the edge). So we had a whole conversation about if he was a bear then what kind of animal am I? Well according to that same quiz I am an otter, cute and playful and awesome. So that explains the otter part but what about Eclectic?
I do a lot of different stuff. I sew, paint, craft, make books and journals, scrapbook, and do diy home projects. I read a variety of things fantasy novels, steampunk books, comics of all sorts, craft books, kids books, and so on. I play video games, board games, and roleplaying games. All of these things influence the others. I make crafts with video game themes, books influence rpg characters I play, that sort of thing....Therefore Eclectic Otter.
